Open positions at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre

 

 HOURLY POSITIONS

 The DMT uses contracted hourly overhire labor to fill a variety of positions – from carpenters, painters and electricians to audio engineers, stitchers and props artisans.  Successful candidates will be self-motivated, show great attention to detail, have safe work practices, and be able to execute tasks efficiently and accurately.  Work hours are typically during the day, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours required.  The work schedule is determined by the needs of the production.

BOX OFFICE / CONCESSIONS CLERK

Reports to: Lead Box Office Clerk

Description: Under the general supervision of the Lead Box Office Clerk, the Box Office/Concessions Clerk will staff the Box Office or Concessions Stand during day (matinee) and evening performances. The position requires strong customer service skills as well as proficiency with PC software programs, bookkeeping tasks and simple accounting skills.

PROP MASTER

Reports To: Theatre Manager and Technical Director

Description: Under the general supervision of the Theater Manager and Technical Director, the Prop Master is in charge of prop needs for all DMT produced productions, and manages the DMT prop rental program.

 SCENIC TECHNICIAN

 Reports to:  Shop Foreman

 Description: Ideal candidates should have a working knowledge of technical theater and scenic construction techniques, in both wood and metal.  Experience with stage rigging, and finish carpentry is a plus.  Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

 LIGHTING TECHNICIAN

 Reports to:  Master Electrician

 Description: Ideal candidates should be able to hang and focus theatrical lighting fixtures, and troubleshoot or repair electrical components when necessary.  Experience with computerized lighting consoles and dimming systems is a plus.  Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

 COSTUME TECHNICIAN

 Reports to:  Costume Shop Manager

 Description: Ideal candidates should be skilled in basic machine stitching techniques and hand sewing.  The ability to understand commercial patterns and fabric distressing is a plus.
