An Inspector Calls

Auditions for An Inspector Calls, a play by J.B. Priestley, will be held at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre on Saturday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. Roles are available for four men ages 20 through 60+ years of age, and for three women 20 to 60+ years of age. Auditions will be cold readings from the script.

This is an open call audition -- no appointment is needed.

About the play: An Inspector Calls is an effective presentation of the strange twists that take place in human beings when their consciences are affected. In an English industrial city in 1912, a young girl commits suicide and an eminently respectable British family is subjected to a routine inquiry in connection with the death. A police inspector calls to interrogate the family, and during the course of his questioning all members of the group are implicated lightly or deeply in the girl's undoing. The family, closely knit and friendly at the beginning of the evening, is shown up as selfish, self-centered or cowardly, its good humor turning to acid, and good fellowship to dislike, before the evening is over.

Please be sure to visit our An Inspector Calls page for a word from the director and the character descriptions.

Performance dates are September 19 thru October 5, 2008.

Cinderella

Auditions for the magical family musical Cinderella, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, will be held at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre on Saturday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. Roles are available for six women ages 18 to 60+, four men ages 18 to 60+, and a large ensemble of singers and dancers ages 10 to 60+.

How to audition: Come prepared to sing one song from any musical of your choice. Bring the sheet music to the audition. A pianist will be provided. Cinderella requires a large ensemble of singers and dancers. This is the perfect introduction to auditioning and performance for performers new to the stage or returning to the stage.

Performance dates are November 14 thru December 7.
