Meg: Takes after her mother; beautiful, warm, conventional, composed, romantic, proper and old fashioned, responsible, Her flaw = avarice. Appears to be 16 to 19 years old. Sings: Our Finest Dreams, Delighted, Five Forever, More Than I Am

Jo: high-spirited, ambitious, independent, a rebel; aches to see the world, to be a writer, and to be recognized; spunky, tomboyish, feisty, improper, outspoken, proud, bright, committed to her family, and has a generous heart. Her flaw = anger. Appears 15 to18 years old. Sings: An Operatic Tragedy, Better, Our Finest Dreams, Could You, Delighted, Five Forever, Astonishing, The Weekly Volcano Press, Some Things Are Meant To Be, The Fire Within Me, Small Umbrella in the Rain

Beth: frail, kind, contented, serene, musically talented, accepting of life and death, gentle, selfless, quiet and compassionate, loves dolls and cats, docile and shy, sweet, and eager to please. Amy: (younger) charming, snobbish, uppity, petulant, willful, can be vain and spoiled and throw tantrums; a talented artist; (older) cool, reserved and worldly, naturally graceful and docile but inclined toward affectation, her flaw = selfishness.
