There are several ways in which you can help insure that
the magic of live theatre remains available in your community.
Two of the most popular ways are our Patron
and Seat
Endowment programs, which have been instrumental over
the years in helping us defray the ever-increasing costs of
mounting the quality productions you've come to expect.
We have also joined the amazon.com
Associates Program, which allows us to provide our customers
with links and easy access to books and other materials related
to our performances, while at the same time raising a little
extra revenue for the theatre. If you regularly use amazon.com,
this can be a great way to contribute to DMT: all you have
to do is click on one of our links to them, and then, once
you're there, every purchase you make (no matter what you
buy) helps us out. You can usually find our links to amazon.com
on our show-specific pages, on the Teacher's
Page, and often on our auditions pages.
The Community Gift Catalog: This catalog,
prepared by the Greater Hayward Area Recreation and Park Foundation,
lists numerous items which you or your organization can donate
to the various programs at H.A.R.D., together with their corresponding
values. All donations are tax-deductible, as the Foundation
is exempt under Section 501 c (3) of the Internal Revenue
Code.
Among the items which you can donate to the
Douglas Morrisson theatre under this program are:
Box Office software ($2,500 to $5,000);
A seat endowment ($1,000 - $5,000) as described in our Seat
Endowment page;
A costume sponsorship for a specific show ($250 - $1,000);
A CAD plotter for the Scene Shop ($1,200 - $1,500).
If you're interested in donating any of these items, or would
like more information, please give Nancy Engle, our Managing
and Artistic Director, a call at 510-881-6777. Or, you can
call the Foundation office at 510-881-6704 to request a copy
of the Community Gift Catalog.
In-kind donations: Although it is fairly common for
community theatres to accept donations of building materials,
costumes, and similar items, our storage areas are totally
"maxed out" at this point, so we are unfortunately
not able to accept in-kind donations right now.
If you do have some special items that you feel would benefit
our theatre, please give us a call first to discuss it. Our
Box Office staff, at (510) 881-6777, can put you directly
in touch with the correct department. On rare occasions we
may be looking for something specific, but, for the most part,
we recommend donating your items to the Salvation Army, Goodwill,
or a similar organization.
