We are proud to announce our 2011 season!

A classic Noel Coward comedy, the works of two legendary American showmen, a series of historic television interviews from the 1970's, and one of the shows most requested by our audiences, plus, of course three concerts by the Douglas Morrisson theatre chorus: that's our 2011 season—our 32nd year.

February 25 - March 20, 2011

Noel Coward’s terribly witty comedy for terribly sophisticated people.
The 2011 Season opens with Noel Coward’s masterpiece of marital mayhem. Elyot and Amanda, once married and now honeymooning with new spouses at the same hotel, meet by chance, reignite the old spark and impulsively elope. After days of being reunited, they again find their fiery romance alternating between passions of love and anger. Their aggrieved spouses appear and a roundelay of affiliations ensues as the women first stick together, then wander apart, and new partnerships are formed.

Broadway to Hollywood

April 1, 2, & 3, 2011

Vocal music from the stage and screen, presented by the Morrisson Theatre Chorus under the direction of Cesar Cancino.

May 20 to June 12, 2011

Music by Richard Rodgers
Lyrics by Lorenz Hart
Concept by Richard Lewine and John Fearnley

From their first hit song in 1925 through their final show-stopper in 1943, the prolific team of Rodgers & Hart was continually redefining the musical theatre with its wit, freshness and intelligence. In this rousing pastiche, the first act sets the stage for romance while the second act is comprised of their more satiric gems. The brief narration highlights the Rodgers & Hart story, but it’s the songs that explain their success. Perhaps Irving Berlin summed it up best: “Tuneful and tasty, schmaltzy and smart-music by Rodgers, lyrics by Hart.”

Bach to Bebop

July 22, 23, & 24, 2011

Four centuries of vocal favorites brought to you by the Morrisson Theatre chorus.

September 2 to 25, 2011

British talk-show host David Frost has become a lowbrow laughing-stock. Richard M. Nixon has just resigned the United States presidency in disgrace over Vietnam and the Watergate scandal. Determined to resurrect his career, Frost risks everything on a series of interviews in order to extract an apology from Nixon. The cagey Nixon, however, is equally bent on redeeming himself in his nation’s eyes. In the television age, both men are desperate to upstage each other. The result is the interview that sealed a president’s legacy.

November 11 to December 4, 2011

The show that opened the Douglas Morrisson Theatre in 1979—and has remained one of the most requested musicals by our audiences—makes for a dramatic, richly textured and uplifting tale of enormous fascination. In 1862 an English widow and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Siam, where she is to serve as tutor to the King’s many children and wives. While keeping a firm grip on their traditions and values, Anna and the King grow to understand and, eventually, respect one another in a unique love story. The ballet, “The Small House of Uncle Thomas,” is one of the all-time marvels of the musical stage.

In the Holiday Spirit

December 16, 17, & 18, 2011

Classic songs for a special time of the year, presented by the Morrisson theatre chorus.
